- Haydn: The Creation
Following the success of last year's performance of Handel's Messiah, St Peter's choir again welcomes friends to join them in performing an enduring favourite of the oratorio repertoire, this time by Haydn (marking the 200th anniversary of his death). Creation is a vivid musical depiction of the array of created things, and is full of effervescent joy at the beauty and splendour of creation. The augmented St Peter's choir will be joined by professional orchestral players and soloists from London. As part of St Peter's Church patronal festival weekend and flower festival, this is a rare chance to hear this glorious work in such a beautiful rural setting, with the backdrop of colourful flower arrangements displaying visually the beauty of creation that Haydn depicts musically!
